[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Johan Andersen
Age: 19, both physical and appearance.
Gender: Male
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
Timeline: Post series, roughly one year after the ending.

Background:
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Jesse_Anderson

(Note: The character I will be playing is Johan Andersen, not Jesse Anderson. The wiki should detail the differences between the original character and the dub version.)

Personality:
The first thing people will often notice about Johan is his overflowing friendliness. In most new situations, if there's the possibility of social interaction, Johan's first course of action is to try and make connections with anyone willing to listen to him. Whether or not these bonds become deep, Johan strives to connect with lots of people due to one of his larger goals in life being to bridge the gap between the people of the real world, and the inhabitants of the spirit world - much like the Bifröst. His drive to form so many bonds has shaped his general nature into that of a very compassionate one, he's almost always extremely kind to others.

Ever since he was young, Johan's been able to see Duel Spirits, cards that have souls tied to them, and the ability had given him a sense of meaning in his life. His mission to unite people and spirits is one he takes very seriously, and one of the few things that ever really sets him off is seeing someone abuse that connection. His anger is never uncontrolled, though. Johan is a person who always remains very collected, even during the rare times when something genuinely upsets him.

His bouts of anger are very few and far between, however, and Johan is typically a good natured guy. He's more than willing to do anything to please or help out anyone in need, and he'll go above and beyond when it comes to his friends, even going so far as to sacrifice himself for the good of the school during the events of season 3, thereby setting into motion the events of the second half of the season. He later returns to the side of the protagonist - his best friend - and refuses to leave him when he knows his help is needed. Additionally, his actions in these times are extremely decisive. Johan isn't one to hesitate when it comes to making a decision, and when he has his mind set on something, he will see it through.

In his series, Johan has an adoptive family consisting of 8 spirits attached to cards he was given at the age of roughly 15. These spirits, known as the Crystal Beasts, take the forms of various animals and mythological creatures, and the most interesting one to note is the first one that showed itself to him - a carbuncle. This particular creature in its own myths is one that will not show itself to a person whose heart holds greed, and will only appear to those who are free of it. Combined with Johan's constant selfless actions, it wouldn't be a far stretch to assume that he is an individual who is completely greed free - for better or worse. Going back to the Crystal Beasts themselves, Johan's connection to them is incredibly tight. He treasures little above them, and is more than willing to go to any lengths to keep them safe. They are, after all, his family, and he knows they would do just as much for him.

Despite being so set on forging bonds with people, an interesting quirk to note about Johan's personality is his apparent inability to read when his own social behavior becomes awkward. He'll make jokes that are literally only funny to himself while absolutely befuddling to everyone else, penetrate other people's personal space with little thought (getting close, resting his hands on someone's shoulder for uncomfortably long periods of time, etc.), and generally be obliviously weird. He has little trouble reading other people's emotions when simply being an observer, however when he puts himself in a situation where he's actively interacting with someone, that particular sense seems to be dulled.

The last big note on his personality is just how eagerly Johan takes on anything life throws at him. His enthusiasm to take on new tasks and challenges is very prominent, and that gusto even extends to things that are far more routine. From everything including playing a trading card game, to going on rescue missions, Johan meets any and all challenges head-on.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Johan's very big on helping people and settling things peacefully. Once he gets up to speed with things, he's big on strategizing a way to provide assistance with as little unnecessary collateral damage as possible. His biggest motivation behind helping out would be the drive to return to his home world.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
He's a sharp thinker, needing very little time to create plans and strategies. Additionally, he'll retain his kind, understanding, and compassionate nature.

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Loses the ability to see and sense (Duel) Spirits.

[ WEAPON ] or [ MEISTER ]
Johan will be a weapon. Canonically speaking, he's far more likely to first assess a situation, rather than run blindly into something he knows nothing about. He's eager and enthusiastic, but he isn't prone to acting without thinking.

Soul Description:
- Outgoing
- Loyal
- Decisive
- Selfless
- Oblivious
- Excitable

Johan's soul is a pure, bright, almost glowing white. The top of it resembles the boy's hair greatly in its somewhat oddly styled, poofy appearance, and its expression is typically one of a determined grin.

Weapon Form:
Johan's weapon form is that of a Danish axe. The handle is moderately long (4.5 feet) and a shining, polished white in color. The head is an M type, in a dark steely color. The most remarkable feature of this axe, aside from its size, it the haft cap. It bears a very simple golden design on it and is inlaid with 7 different gemstones that form a rainbow around it. The jewels are more than decorative, however, as they can channel and release energy into a bright flash. The light is easily capable of temporarily blinding anyone who happens to catch a glimpse of it.

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person
[The screen switches on to the face of the young man, who doesn't seem to be entirely focused on the camera. Rather, his efforts are being put toward figuring out just how the communicator works, including turning the thing over a couple times and running his hand along the sides. Once he's satisfied for the time being, he turns back to the screen with a small smile.] I never really got the hang of this... 'blogging' stuff. [He laughs briefly, his expression turning into a grin.] This looks a lot more hi-tech than anything I've used before.

[He sets the device down in order to lean back from the camera a little bit before speaking again.] Well, I guess I should introduce myself! Hello, everyone, my name is Johan. I like stories, gems, and... [he shuffles around a little bit off screen before pulling out his Duel Monsters deck, displaying it toward the screen.] Card games! If anyone else duels, I'd be more than happy to take on your challenge! [He grins.] I think that's about it for now. I hope we can all get along! It will be great to meet all of you.

Third-Person
Johan couldn't exactly pin-point when anything out of the ordinary had happened. He had just gotten through a long day, and thought it would be a good idea to take a quick nap before heading to dinner. "Come on, Ruby," he called to his spirit partner with a soft smile as he laid down on his couch. Once the carbuncle had settled down with him, Johan laid back on the couch, but it seemed that no sooner had he closed his eyes that he was once again awake - though everything felt... wrong suddenly.

He slowly sat up, wincing a little as soon as he noticed that he was no longer on the couch, but a hard floor. He blinked, straining his eyes to try and make something out through the darkness, before a thought suddenly struck him and he realized he was feeling incredibly alone for some reason. "... Ruby?" He attempted to call the creature out, but he was unable to feel the presence of the Duel Spirit - or any of the other Crystal Beasts for that matter. A feeling of panic gripped him, though he did his best to quell it, as he pulled out his deck and shuffled quickly through the cards. The darkness was making it difficult to make any of them out, but he didn't need the light in order to tell him that the cards were empty. Or, rather, he couldn't feel anything attached to them. Had they suddenly gone missing? He had to stop and remind himself that he didn't exactly know where he had wound up, either. All of this was extremely unsettling.

His thoughts were cut short by the sudden appearance of a large screen, seemingly out of nowhere, causing Johan to briefly put himself on guard. He relaxed as soon as the figure on the screen began to speak. It was surprisingly comforting to have things be explained to him so quickly, though it did little to soothe his confusion. It was at the point that the loss of powers was brought up that he felt the uprise of his panic begin again. He looked back down at the cards he was still holding, unable to help but wonder if that simply meant the cards were currently nothing more than thin pieces of cardboard, or if the Crystal Beasts were there, but he was simply unable to tell. He wasn't sure which thought was worse, honestly. Gently, he straightened the cards back into a deck and briefly held them close before putting them back in their deck box.

The option of helping join the war was then presented, and Johan briefly made a small, vaguely displeased-looking face at the thought. The idea of a war wasn't too appealing, but he wasn't going to deny that he did want to help out in any way possible. On top of that, the idea that the end of this war would mean he might get to go home was too good to ignore.

"... All right, I'll help," he said aloud, with a resolute nod. He couldn't see any other real option, anyway. If he was stuck here, he might as well do what it took to try and get back as soon as possible. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad, either. Even if he didn't have the Crystal Beasts, he knew that they would trust him to be able to get through this, so he would simply have to do just that.

Notes
Johan will be turning up in this world with his deck and the clothes he was wearing, but there's nothing particular to note other than that.
